EcoWorld Ballymore’s twelve luxury penthouses at Wardian London are now officially for sale.
EcoWorld Ballymore’s twelve luxury penthouses at Wardian London are now officially for sale. The penthouses will offer residents a botanic oasis with magnificent, panoramic views of Canary Wharf and the City of London. As Wardian London’s premier residential units, the penthouses overlook the South Quay of London’s Docklands and sit atop two towers which rise to 50 and 55 storeys respectively.
Designed by Glenn Howells Architects, the development takes inspiration from the Wardian case - Dr Nathanial Bagshaw Ward’s the 19th Century creation which revolutionised the transportation of exotic plants. Characterised by bold lines and geometry, the development is a testament to Ward’s botanical legacy; each penthouse comes with a spacious green terrace of up to 32.7 sq. m. Communal spaces, from the private outdoor swimming pool to the atrium, will feature over 100 difference species of exotic plants - a comprehensive garden maintenance service called 'The Gardener' will manage them, making sure residents don't have to worry about forgetting to water them.
Drawing inspiration from the Wardian London’s unique eco-concept, the bespoke interior designer team made use of an abundance of organic materials; the palette is earthy, drawing the penthouses’ interiors into their innovative, flora-filled terraces. Through this, the team hope that the boundaries between the privacy of apartment living and the sweeping views of the city will begin to blur. With all penthouse windows open, the internal and external spaces and colours should transition without residents noticing.
As well as the 25m outdoor swimming pool, the development will house a gym, cinema, two restaurants and a vibrant rooftop observatory; residents will be able to access these facilities as automatic members of The Wardian Club. The development will have fantastic transport links – Wardian London is a three minute walk from One Canada Square – but the penthouses should provide a tranquil escape from busy city life and give residents “the gift of time”. Naturally, they have a starting price of £1.85 million.
