1. The EY Exhibition: Cezanne
5 October 2022 – 12 March 2023
Tate Modern, London

This autumn, Tate Modern will present a once-in-a-generation exhibition of paintings, watercolours and drawings by Paul Cezanne (1839-1906). The exhibition will bring together works from collections in Europe, Asia, and both North and South America, giving UK audiences their first opportunity in over 25 years to explore the breadth of Cezanne’s illustrious career.

2. Visions of Ancient Egypt

The Sainsbury Centre presents a major new exhibition exploring the enduring appeal of ancient Egypt in art, design and the cultural imagination. It features nearly 200 works drawn from collections in the UK and internationally; painting, sculpture, photography and design are shown alongside rare books, film, fashion and jewellery, with objects spanning two millennia from antiquity to the present day.

3. Independent Hotel Show
4 – 5 October

This show will bring together the UK’s boutique and independent hotel community for two days of networking, education and discovery. Key events include the Innovation Stage and the Hotel Vision Stage, which will showcase talks, discussions and debates. The 10th edition of the Independent Hotel Show Awards will also take place during the event.

4. Frieze London
12 – 16 October
The Regent’s Park, London

Returning to The Regent’s Park is Frieze London, showcasing more than 160 galleries from around the world and some of the most exciting artists working today. Also check out Frieze Masters, which gives a unique view on the relationship between historical art and contemporary practice, showing work made before the year 2000, as well as Frieze Sculpture, a free display of major outdoor works.

5. Objects of Desire: Surrealism and Design 1924 – Today
14 October 2022 – 19 February 2023

This landmark autumn exhibition will explore Surrealism’s relationship to the design world. Artworks and objects from Man Ray, Salvador Dali, Marcel Duchamp and Leonora Carrington will be seen alongside pieces by Sarah Lucas, Bjork, Tim Walker and Dior. It will survey the movement and how it not only revolutionised art, but also design.
