Michael Sodeau

Ccreative director and product designer at Designjunction

Designjunction's creative director and product designer, Michael Sodeau, shares his top picks for the festive season.

Top gift you'd like to receive?
I'm not sure if this counts but this is one of my favourite gifts from last year Mitsubishi Hi-Uni Wooden Pencil Art Set - 10B to 10H - Box of 22. It's a set of 22 graphite pencils with varying densities from 10H to 10B and everything in between.

Gift you'd like to give?
A Wallace Sewell woven blanket. We have a couple at home and they are great things to give, especially at this time of year.

Another option depending on who it's for, and budget permitting would be a print from Counter Editions...

Money no object gift?
If money really was not an object I would like a Jean Prouvé "6x6" demountable house.

Affordable, but still very chic gift?
If you have a cyclist in the family then commission Rowley Haverly to immortalise them.

The thoughtful gift?
A few years ago I asked one of my sons to draw a picture of us as a gift for my wife. I then commissioned a jeweller to make it into a silver pendent.
