Sydney Opera House is a globally recognised landmark. Its distinctive architectural features house multiple performing arts venues that together host millions of people per year.

“The Sydney Opera House has played an important role in our nation’s history and embarking on these renewal projects will ensure that it continues to be relevant for generations to come,” relates Deputy Premier and Minister for the Arts, Troy Grant.

While the iconic structure is certainly a cultural emblem of pride for Australia, it also experiences deserving acclaim as a UNESCO World Heritage site. Thus, its renewal project includes designs that will match the level of regard that it holds for its international enthusiasts.

Concepts include a Creative Learning Centre, the first time that the opera house will have a space dedicated to children.

Mr Grant provides further insight into the upcoming plans, which will involve “pedestrianising the under-used space beneath the Monumental Steps to finally bringing the function centre inside the building envelope and eliminating the need for the large external marquee[.]"

No-doubt Sydney Opera House’s upgraded features will ensure its continual global status as a space that both impresses and inspires.
