Dick Bruna - The Artist

The whole world is familiar with the cute character of Miffy, but what about it's creator, Dick Bruna? This exhibition includes 60 prints and drawings that tell the story of Bruna the artist. Influences from Matisse, Léger and De Stijl as well as designers such as Sandberg and Werkman can all be seen in his work. rijksmuseum.nl

In the run up to the gallery's renovations in the next year or so, Brussels-born, Sweden-based artist Carsten Höller will be taking over the spaces on the Southbank. This cross-venue exhibition, in partnership with Yorkshire Sculpture Triangle, explores the career of the British sculptor and his relationship with Yorkshire. Coinciding with another exhibition at the park on Henry Moore -- Caro's former tutor -- the exhibition will include figurative studies, bronze portraits and a selection of Last Sculptures, created shortly before his death in 2013 at the age of 89. ysp.co.uk September

September sees the first significant British survey of Chinese contemporary artist Ai Weiwei, an Honorary RA, at the Royal Academy. The exhibition will include major works spanning his career, that reference Chinese art and culture through both the choice of materials and interventions with historic objects, as well as new work by the artist. royalacademy.org.uk

David Adjaye

The first exhibition of David Adjaye's work offers an overview of the architect's projects through an installation design conceived by Adjaye Associates.
