The restaurants will be soon remodeled with upgraded exteriors and a warmer color palette. Rebecca Johnson, Applebee's senior vice president of marketing, said that the company is testing several variations of the redesign, and will finalize the model in the forthcoming months.
Its logo and other features will remain same. Exterior will be upgraded. Interior changes will include new paint and carpeting, and cleaner walls incorporating paintings and other artwork.
The chain was purchased by International House of Pancakes (IHOP) in 2007 and since then Applebee’s has upgraded its food, marketing and operations, as part of an ongoing revitalization. Applebee's will also upgrade company-owned stores in the Kansas City market.
