Completed in 2013, Terminal 3 at the Shenzhen Bao’an International Airport was designed by Studio Fuksas. The concept of the design was to conjure the image of a manta ray – an inspiring, innovative design that would certainly stand out to pilots looking for the runway.

The terminal is characterised by its white, double layer ‘skin’ in a honeycomb motif, which allows natural light to filter into the building and creates patterns on various surfaces. The sleek, white look of the design is prominent throughout the terminal, and gives an overall futuristic look to the building.
