US-based American Hospital Management Company (AHMC) Network Hospital opened the new Clinica Vallesur in Arequipa, Peru.

Located on La Salle Ave. #1116 in Arequipa, the hospital is part of Peru-based AUNA healthcare provider and a partner of AHMC.

The $10m Clinica Vallesur includes latest medical technology to serve the local community and as a referral centre for Southern Peru patients.

The 5,000m2 acute care hospital features nine floors and includes 31 specialty services, operating rooms and physicians' offices. Additionally, it plans for a office building to accommodate affiliated physicians.

The 60-bed hospital also includes comprehensive radiology services, laboratory and emergency care.

According to Dr. Luis Pinillos, the hospital will feature a top-tier medical staff with access to state-of-the-art medical technology.

Vallesur will offer a new concept in healthcare delivery by linking all of its services electronically. The use of electronic medical record will make the services optimal and flexible, said Manuel Vicente, CEO of Clinica Vallesur.

The inaugural ceremony was held on 20 June 2013.
