7 of the world's most iconic book covers

Author: Joseph Heller
Cover Artist: Paul Bacon

Almost as iconic as the book itself, the Catch-22 book cover was originally designed by Paul Bacon, an American book jacket designer and jazz musician. Known for creating the “Big Book Look”, Bacon's Catch-22’s cover is characterised by the author’s name and book title appearing in large, strong print next to a small, quirky illustration. Bacon also designed covers for Slaughterhouse Five and One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest.
