With World Book Day around the corner, we look at some of the most celebrated and iconic book cover designs in the world.


Celebrating authors, illustrators, books and reading, World Book Day takes place on the 1st of March; in response to this wonderful day, DesignCurial decided to find and share our pick of 7 of the world’s most iconic book covers. The list recognises designs that have stood the test of time – and that have almost become as famous as the books they represent!

Focusing on books written in English, each piece of cover art was reviewed for its unique stand-out artwork given the time the book was published (as far back as 1925!); how well it expresses the contents of the book; and how iconic the artwork has now become.
