Tarkett Immerses Visitors in the Great Indoors at CDW19

Tarkett is welcoming visitors to experience The Great Indoors at its Great Sutton Street showroom throughout Clerkenwell Design Week 2019.

The leading flooring manufacturer is offering a packed programme of parties, art and music, thought-provoking workshops, roundtables and panel discussions inspired by The Great Indoors concept, to imbue creative-minds with a sense of wonder and excitement.

Between 21 and 23 May 2019, bespoke, botanical-inspired cocktails, nature-themed gastronomic delights and a delicious line-up of the design industries most respected spokespeople, including journalist Katie Treggiden, will ensure the Tarkett showroom retains its title as one of Clerkenwell’s most visited destinations.

Further bringing the theme to life, each day of the event will be based around ‘wellness and self-reflection’, ‘rethinking stereotypes’ and ‘transient spaces’, with a coinciding selection of activities planned, and a sneak preview of the latest products on offer.

A new perspective on the world of work

The Great Indoors theme stems from the fact that the average person spends 90% of their time indoors. Tarkett strongly believes that indoor environments should generate the same amount of interest as the ‘Great Outdoors’, since they are vital to our quality of life.

This formed the inspiration for Tarkett’s newly launched research report, Rethinking Workplace: Part 1, which analyses the wants and needs of 2,500 European office workers. Plus, its coinciding editorial platform The Great Indoors.

Clerkenwell Design Week will see the launch of Rethinking Workplace: UK Focus, which offers a country-specific, spotlight view of the results.

The study found that health and wellbeing matters most, alongside flexibility across both personal and professional aspects of people’s lives. Tarkett refers to this ‘blurring’ as ‘Worklife’.

Delving deeper

The CDW speaker programme will explore and reflect on these topics, while taking a deeper dive into the UK insights from the study.

“We can’t wait to kick-off this year’s Clerkenwell Design Week programme”, comments Andrew Sloan, Managing Director at Tarkett UK. “With it being the festival’s 10th anniversary, we’ve prepared an extra special lineup of activities sure to inspire the architecture and design community.
