Call for architects and specifiers to take part in survey to shape the future of the architectural ironmongery industry

Architects and specifiers are being invited to take part in an online survey that will help to shape the future of the Guild and Institute of Architectural Ironmongers (GAI).

The short survey aims to find out the views of architects and specifiers on what they believe the most substantial issue facing the ironmongery industry over the next three years will be. It will also collect opinions on the GAI and IAI’s role in the industry and the membership benefits and services.

The survey is being conducted by the GAI as parts of its One Future Vision programme. Once all of the research is complete, the Guild will be deciding how the GAI and Institute of Architectural Ironmongers (IAI) will operate going forward to best serve the interests of the architectural ironmongery sector and the benefits it provides to its members.

David Stacey, president of the GAI, says:
“One Future Vision is one of the biggest shakeups within our industry for many years. We have listened to our members and the views of others within the sector and it is clear that times are changing.

“We are seeking the opinion of current members and students, potential members, lapsed members, and from people in other relevant sectors.  This survey will be used to test the value of all our offerings and allow us to understand in depth what is needed to attract and retain members for the future.”

The deadline for taking part in the survey is 25 February 2019.
