Bring the art deco style to the bathroom with new Fibo wall panels

Compared to traditional tiles, high quality wall panels can offer a multitude of benefits, including significant time savings on installation without comprising on a beautifully finished aesthetic. Here, Nicola Lewis, Marketing Manager at Fibo explains how these waterproof panels offer design freedom and introduces the latest models from the Fibo range.

When remodelling a bathroom, whether for commercial or domestic use, interior designers will be looking for solutions that strike the tough balance between aesthetics, practicality, performance and cost.

For bathroom renovations, tiling is often seen as problematic; requiring ample wall prep, placing and fixing tiles, grouting, and of course, time for everything to set properly. Tiles are also more prone to damage such as cracks, and require regular upkeep to prevent grout from becoming worn, stained and unhygienic.

Therefore, it is time to consider innovative, high quality waterproof wall panels as an alternative.  Fibo wall panels are constructed by sealing a strong layered plywood core between a decorative high-pressure laminate and enhanced moisture barrier to the reverse, and utilising our unique Aqualock tongue and groove fixing system combined with a quality sealant for incredibly quick installation. The panels can be fixed to any surface - including over existing tiles, meaning they

can be installed many times faster. Furthermore, as they do not use any grout at all, the panels are significantly easier to clean and maintain, retaining the fresh appearance for many years, whilst not compromising on water-tightness.

With Fibo, every individual taste, décor and budget is catered for and there is also no chance of compromising style for practicality. With over 80 different colour, design and texture options available, you can offer clients a solution that matches their vision. Expanding this offering even further, we have introduced a stunning new Metro Brick design, part of a brand-new range, the Urban Collection, which will be launching further designs in 2021.

Using our unique routering method, the design features a 3D tile-effect pattern, to mimic the effect of staggered 30x10cm brickwork. This is inspired by the art deco movement that brought metro tiles from the London Underground and New York Subways in the 19th Century into the kitchens and bathrooms of residential homes.

These are available in five stunning white or grey finishes;

  • Svalbard, a light grey, matt finish
  • Aberdeen, a dark grey, matt finish
  • London, a glossy, warm grey
  • Denver White, a gloss white finish
  • White Silk, a white silk decor

In addition, we have three new blue decors in our Contemporary Tile Effect range. These three new colours will appeal to those looking to create a luxurious space that makes the most of the popular colour trend. Midnight Blue is perfect for those seeking a dark and dramatic hue in a gloss finish. For those with a preference for matt finishes, the new Smokey Blue (a teal blue) and Dusty Blue (a darker shade with grey undertones) decors are perfect to create a chic space.

Offering customers even more beautiful options that look and feel like tiles, and can be installed quickly and maintained easily is just the start – these new designs are also provided with Fibo’s market-leading 25-year warranty, so once properly installed, customers can be guaranteed of the panels watertightness, robustness and colour retention.
