London's Southbank Centre is to welcome hundreds of artists this summer for its Festival of the World, a four-month event featuring art, poetry and an urban beach beside the River Thames. As part of the project, volunteers have been working to create a Festival Village, a place where artists, partners, participants and staff can socialise, connect and relax.
Volunteers are getting together every Wednesday and Saturday to help build the Festival Village, but the organisers need more help from willing members of the public. It's free and you don't need any experience to participate - and it will look great on the CVs of any budding architects or interior designers out there.
The Southbank Centre's Festival of the World begins 1 June and runs until 9 September. Visit the website to get involved or to find out more about the project.
