Kidderminster-based carpet maker Grosvenor Wilton Company has supplied a bespoke carpet for the set of Stephen Spielberg’s latest film, the Oscar-nominated biopic Lincoln, which dramatises president Abraham Lincoln’s successful efforts to outlaw slavery in the US.

Commissioned by the film's makers, the bespoke wilton carpet, which replicates an authentic 19th century design is used in the set depicting Lincoln's bedroom in the White House, and is itself a replication of the carpet Grosvenor Wilton Company recently made for the actual Lincoln Bedroom in the White House.

The carpet was produced using a 100 Wilton loom.

Grosvenor Wilton was founded in 2005 but can trace connections dating back to the late 18th Century when the original Grosvenor business was founded in 1790.
