Gareth Gardner takes a bird’s-eye view of a new sexual health clinic

An overhead view of the relaxed waiting space at the new Burrell Street Sexual Health Centre. The UK's first seven-day-a-week sexual health clinic has been designed by Urban Salon for Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust. The brief was to transform two railway arches in Southwark into a welcoming environment that would help break down taboos relating to sexual health. The waiting room features a large communal table where visitors can enjoy a frothy coffee, while 'fog' graphics applied to the full-height glazing strike a balance between natural light and privacy. Two suspended mobiles, designed by artist Arnold Goron, gently rotate overhead.
