Celebrate the 'beauty, quality, and diversity' of wool during the 2nd national Wool Week at Design Centre Chelsea Harbour starting 5 September. Wool Week, developed by The Campaign for Wool, is designed to educate consumers about the vast uses of wool in interior design.

The Campaign for Wool, initiated in 2008 by The Prince of Wales, was created to draw attention to the declining wool industry. Synthetic oil-based fabrics that are non eco-friendly are replacing the material, a highly sustainable product. Through Wool Week, the campaign hopes to boost the popularity of wool.

To highlight how the material can be used in a modern setting, the exhibit includes brightly coloured plaid fabric in wool upholstered onto modular seating to reflect current catwalk trends. 'Snaking through industrial frames, they resemble an urban tube train travelling through a tunnel,' says The Campaign for Wool.

London street artist Jack Murray has specially designed the roofs of the frames, making the view from the top floors an artistic experience in its own right.

Follow the woollen trail through 45 showrooms that display handcrafted papier mâché sheep, woollen fabrics, weaves, rugs, carpets, and much more.

By attending Wool Week, the Campaign for Wool can teach you how to incorporate the versatile product as a chic and contemporary fixture in your venue.
