Floor Covering Winner: iD Revolution by Tarkett

iD Revolution is the market’s first Cradle to Cradle Gold-certified, modular, resilient flooring to be made with recycled materials and natural fillers. Developed in response to customers’ non-PVC requirements, the collection reflects Tarkett’s commitment to providing products that create people-friendly spaces and respect the planet’s natural capital.

The product comprises 83 per cent recycled, mineral and bio-based materials, and is 100 per cent recyclable. To produce the innovative product, Tarkett sources recycled PVB (polyvinyl butyral), a non-PVC (polyvinyl chloride) and phthalate-free resin, traditionally used to help prevent windscreens from shattering and recovered from end-of-life vehicles. These materials are then integrated into the product, making up 24 per cent of the total formula. The flooring is also comprised of 11 per cent bioplastic and 49 per cent chalk.

The manufacturing process is also sustainable, as 99 per cent of the water used during the production is recycled, and 50 per cent of the electricity required comes from renewable sources, with the remaining 50 per cent offset via carbon credits through a project that supports biodiversity in the Peruvian Amazon Rainforest.

The designs are inspired by the textures and tones found in natural and man-made environments, with a colour palette of 12 shades inspired by the detailing of wood, concrete and stone, ranging from the subtle Rustic Oak to more rugged, raw and industrial composite.

iD Revolution is available in three versatile formats and shapes: planks of 12.5x122cm, 20x122cm or 25x122cm, and tiles of 25x50cm, 50x50cm or 50x100cm.
